If you’ve ever wondered how I got started, it all began with a question from my then four-year-old. She looked up at me and asked, “Mommy, when are you going to start my garden?” 

So, I started a garden. It wasn’t anywhere close to successful as I define garden success now—but it literally changed my life. The time I spent in the garden with my kids and husband made me first fall in love with the garden. It became such a special thing for our family. The kids loved running around the garden, getting their hands dirty, and learning about how food grows. And honestly, I loved having a place I could escape to when I needed some peaceful outside time (and trust me, with four kids, I needed it!).

Those first years in the garden shaped what would eventually turn into my gardening business, as well as the dream that drives my business. Imagine this: neighborhoods full of gardens, kids picking veggies right out of the backyard, and everyone sitting down to meals they grew themselves.

That’s the world I want to see and the one I want to help create. A world where everyone is growing a little bit of their own healthy, organic food. So, here’s my plan to get things rolling: I want to give away one million seed packets.

That's because I'm not doing this to make money. (I'm actually losing money.) I'm doing this because I want to see as many people as possible start gardens in 2025. And if I can make that happen by sending out some free seed packets, that's well worth it.

I don't know if you know this, but seeds are the ultimate gift that keeps on giving! I have plants I grow in my garden year after year, all thanks to a single seed packet. I just let a plant or two go to seed at the end of each growing season, harvest the seeds, and then plant them next year to keep the cycle of growth going.
